Manor House
A manor house or fortified manor-house is a country house, which has historically formed the administrative centre of a region. The Walker Hall Manor Inn is one of the oldest homes in Canada and serves as a clear landmark in the Niagara Region. The Manor House line of wines is our middle line, our standard. The Manor House wines are single vineyard productions that typically see the use of new and 2nd year French Oak for 6 months to a full year.

Manor House Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon is a complex grape; its character can emerge as black currants, green olives, herbs, bell peppers or combinations of these with mint and leather. These wines age beautifully. When young they are best matched with robust red meat dishes; older Cabernets are superb accompaniments to roasts and steaks, and also complement many cheeses. Manor House Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 boasts intense, concentrated aromas of dusty black fruits, ripe figs, violets, dark chocolate, warm baking spices and minerals. The big, concentrated palate delivers impressively deep, expansive flavors of cassis, black fig, spicy blackberry, and chocolate with an intriguing streak of minerality asserting itself in the long, firmly structured finish. Although this powerful, single-vineyard Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is difficult to resist now, especially with grilled red meats, it will cellar beautifully for another 3-5 years.
Manor House Chardonnay
Niagara makes several types of Chardonnay, ranging from fresh, crisp wines to rich, complex wines with layers of flavors. With such a wide range of styles, Niagara’s Chardonnays accompany a variety of dishes, from simply prepared seafood to lighter red meats. 2008 proved an exceptional vintage despite the unusual amount of precipitation throughout the summer months. Budbreak was late due to a cold late winter and the weather then turned cool and rainy, delaying vine development further. Atypically cool temperatures continued throughout the summer, further slowing the ripening process and extending the harvest season, which finally reached fruition with an Indian summer of sorts in late September and October. Due to the length of the growing season, our Estate Chardonnay grapes spent an extended period on the vine developing deeply concentrated flavors at moderate sugar levels. The result is a rich, beautifully balanced wine of great depth and complexity.
